Repetitive

It's very repetitive and could use an update on the sound samples, especially the drum samples used. I would recommend taking out those hi hats completely as well, as they don't add anything except fro maybe the soloing hi hats with accents that begins at 1:10.

la-yinn responds:

It's not a brilliant track, I admit. It could use a lot of work, but I don't think I'll ever work on this again. It had the accent the flash author was looking for, but out of context it's kinda bland. :f

Thanks for the review!

Bleeding ears...

For improv, this is pretty bad.. None of the notes were in key and there's was obviously no thought going into anyone's head about what they were playing. You should have all agree at least on a key before playing. Practice your improv skills because this is just distasteful.

Haha, we were just kidding :P
Don't take it seriously.

Very interesting :)

I'm extremely surprised with what you can do with such common sounds. The sounds of like really do make music. The sound is very different and original. I really don't know what to say to this because it is beyond average. I'm definitely looking forward to your sample pack.

sorohanro responds:

Thanx man.
The samplepack is already "out there" for free download and use.

Drawn out intro

Almost wanted to walk away from this in the beginning because of how long the intro is. There's not much that changes overall, but the sound is unique and very easy to listen to. The drums are a little out of place I have to say, but it also adds a bit of flavor to the piece.

FuNDaMeLoN responds:

Well, the intro gives a mood of calm (at least that was what I went for), but it makes it seem like a slow and boring song. It isn't as long , though, as it is repetitive. The drums are amen breaks that I use quite often, and (as you said) add flavor and variety to it, though it may seem out of place at times.
I appreciate your review, keep on listening!

Some really interesting things going on.

I really like all the reverse symbols at the beginning, adds a unique to the feel to the beginning. The melody is pretty catchy as well and works with the different effects and instruments its assigned to, though it does sound a little bit "choppy" in some parts. Not everything comes out as clear as it could, but I'm assuming you were looking for that because you distinguish a difference in clarity in different parts of the song. Just a bit of personal preference there. Good job man.

Epic?

A few things, I'll try to make this short. :P

The beginning is excellent, no complaints there. The violin is very subtle, just barely audible and that's actually very nice, it let you crescendo the rest of the piece which I think was probably one of the strongest build ups to this song. The tempo slowing down and then speeding up at 2:04 is nice, however the drums weren't to my taste at that part. They didn't necessarily take away from the part, but I think a lot more could have been done with them, especially when that synth came in. I think it would have helped with building a strong closure because from 3:13 on the energy is basically the same from as the beginning, it's strong but definitely open to be stronger, as that key change shows. At the key change it seems to gather more energy and you can definitely tell the ending is coming. Really, that's all I've got, good job overall.

groovatron responds:

thanks for long review :)

I see what u mean about the end. If id given it more energy it would of been better.
great uy like it thanks.

Good job.

It doesn't loop perfectly, but it's definitely fun to listen to. There were a few note choices n there I didn't like, but overall I really enjoyed the flow of this loop and however thing moves. There's nothing that really stands out too much though after the first half. I think there's a lot of hidden potential behind what's already done. If those main keyboard parts were done as improv then kudos to you there as well. Good job overall.

SymbolCymbal responds:

This is what sucks about the uploading system in newgrounds.. they add a micro nanosecond to your loops.. in aif format it loops perfectly and it loops perfectly in logic but when i upload it to newgrounds it just doesnt werk fer some odd reason .. thakns for the review

Very inspirational piece

This is very inspirational, almost makes me feel like I can do anything. In fact, I think I might jump out the window of a third story building after listening to this. Maybe I'll stand in front of a train and try to stop it. I bet you I can even fly after listening to this.

I really enjoyed your use of dynamics on the piano on this track, and the the mesh between the bassline and other instruments. It all works nicely. I did feel some repetitiveness at some points as the song progressed, but you did add enough within the different parts that I didn't really bore. Like I said, real inspirational, good job.

groovatron responds:

thanks for your lengthy review. You think its inspirational!! thank you

Sounds like the Lion King on crack..

No offense. I think the composition on the song is actually pretty decent. However, the fl slayer doesn't produce the most beautiful sounds, if you understand where I'm coming from. There are some decent guitar vsts out there and some good ways to synthesize your own guitar. Also, look toward updating the drum samples or look for a drum machine, either is a better alternative to the default samples of FL.

Dj-tom responds:

okay...

Expresses Monday so greatly :D

Now I want to hear Friday! :D
