Amazing

I always loved the original but it was always way too simulated for my tastes so I never could quite enjoy it and appreciate as much as I do now. There must have been some tremendous effort put into making this. My only complaint really is that the piano is a bit on the quiet side, especially when it starts soloing. I know you might be trying to keep a balance and blend but it does seem like it could be turned up a bit, at least during the solo and then you could always turn it down a bit.

rtnario responds:

True. But it's really hard to keep the balance if there are like, five guitars already and just one piano XD The tremendous effort was all concentrated on the rhythm guitar and drums, actually. Naturally, I'd like the effort to be heard, but I guess I chose it over the volume of the piano. Oh well XD Thanks for the review!

Superb work my friend

Again this is simply, in one word beautiful, and in another completely brutal. Those climatic build ups always catch me off guard when they end so early. I enjoy the clock effect you used though. I'll definitely be waiting for the final version, I've waited for this for awhile now haha.

And just to clear.. this isn't the final length of the track right? There's more to come because I definitely felt a little unsatisfied with how long it takes for things to really get moving. Good nonetheless. :D

Lashmush responds:

the song will be 25 minutes when done which will require 4 separate newgrounds uploads in order to maintain decent quality.

I chose to cut the Werewolf segment short in order to keep those that have waited for UE5 aswell as newcomers to it on the edge of their seats. ;D

Thanks for the review!

Very impressive

I'm diggin' this tune man. I love the vocal melodies and I really can't explain this piece in enough words. However, there is one thing that bothered me. The drum mix. It didn't really fit on the softer parts, it sounded a little bit raw and it really exposed the synthetic sound of the drum machine. Overall, I was really impressed though and if you could get a more professional sounding mix that would be amazing. Looking forward to seeing what you do.

Kor-Rune responds:

Thanks! Yeah, I wish I could afford drum recording equipment, and just play the parts myself. Oh well, I'm lucky enough with this drum machine I think, some people can't even tell it's a machine ;)

Thanks for the review!

Starts out nicely..

The song starts out nicely, just like any other house song, then slowly builds to its own. I like the melodies in there, but around the second half of the song everything seems to get a little repetitive. If you decide to revisit this song, go back on that second half and see what you can do with it.

Fredgy responds:

i totally agree with you!
that second half is a bit too repetitive after a while, first i didn't see that, but now this time when i relisten it, i hear it, and it kinda bothers me or how you say it :p
so it could be i'm looking back at that second half :p
thanks!

Very nice sound

I have to say there's a lot of good things going on here. The many effects used are brilliant, especially the mix of delays and how clean how everything. Right from the beginning I could tell this song was going to be good because it had a dynamic intro that allowed for progression. What really gave me chills was the 40 seconds in, that part is a brilliant mix of acoustic sounds and drums what you're doing with the crashes there is very subtle but very appropriate.

Awesome song, keep up the work.

Tokolos responds:

Thanks Lightkeeper/ planning on adding more to it sometime.

Nice

Not really a big fan of long drawn out guitar intros but they work. You've got some real progressive stuff going on here and I can really hear the influences in this work. On the mixing end, I think the leads could have been raised a bit because they seemed a bit drowned out for me. One thing that bothered me as well was the transition to 3:06. It seemed kind of like it just changed and wasn't thought out, but I guess that's why this is just some rough shit.

As far as drums, they seemed pretty well written. You do a lot with EZ drummer to make the drums seem more authentic and its noticable by the high quality outcome of the song.

There's really a lot of good things coming out of this song, good job.

Metaljonus responds:

Thanks guy, yeah I don't use ezdrummer I have'nt used it in a long ass time. i'm using Superior 2.0 check into it. I see that the leads are a little low i'll be sure to gix that. Bout the transition I wanted it to be like that. Anyway thanks for listening.

Pretty good

There are some bits that are a little repetitive or that feel a lil drawn out, like in the beginning. But overall I liked this song. 1:46 especially where everything begins to climax and the synth solo starts shortly after. This is pretty good for trance because it isn't really the generic trance song most artists usually pump out. Good job.

Bracksta responds:

ya, i layer alot, lol

Pretty good

This is a good example of what can be produced in just the demo of FL. I loved the melodies in there and the relaxation of the song. While listening to it I did think it reminded me of Mirror's Edge's theme song. If you haven't heard it yet you should go listen to it.

Now, for some critique. I don't know how this song sounds on your system and whatever you used to mix it with (speakers, head phones, ect.) but on mine the drums sound a little bit quiet. This seems like a song where when the drums are playing during the main parts of the track they should really be up in your face. That kick especially, otherwise it feels as if the song loses a lot of power.

Another thing is in the beginning. There's a weird overtone going on with the bass that sort of rattles the speakers, and not in a good way. You might want to, if you can, go back and EQ those frequencies that are causing this out. Other then that, I believe this was an excellent and beautiful track.

combatplayer responds:

Lol thanks. I cant fix it :/ it was the demo after all. The power of the drums ur talking abaut could be cus my speakers are EQ enabled and boosted in bottom bass and high discant.

Decent

Very repetitive and boring, you need to add more to keep the piece interesting. You only have one synth which really limits the progression of the song. The song is really simple, being composed only with drums and a lead line. Add a bass synth in there, some chords to back it, change the leads up more. I'd also recommend updating those drum samples because they sound like those default FL samples.

I'd recommend learning more about what DnB is about as well, as this may just be very far from what DnB is. Look up some tutorials and learn how to mess with FL.

Scrototype responds:

1. You don't hear the bass? It's pretty deep, my speakers couldn't pick it up but my headphones could.
2. I have no clue what DnB is.
3. This is only my second full song, so I'm a little clueless on how to download different... drum samples and such.
4. Thank you kindly for taking the time to review my song. ;)

Well returning the favor.

Of reviewing.

I really like how this whole mix begins off, very nicely done and mastered professionally. I have to say I was enjoying the melody and overall, the song up to 0:41. Trance isn't my spectrum of music, but I would have digressed from using a similar sounding synth to the one already playing in the background, and instead maybe a done a toss with the melodies - giving them to separate synths.

One other things I noticed was a lack of transition. There's a bit of it at :41 but it's not really too noticable seeing as it begins a new phase, though there is a slight pause. The second transitional problem I found came at 1:36 where it goes back into that beginning phrase.

Hope this was helpful.

FlightPattern responds:

Thank you so much for reviewing!!!

I agree this piece clearly is lacking in transition especially at 1:36 (that was when I got tired of working on this and decided to just be done).
